Guidelines to Task : Data Collection for Colleges

Welcome to the task of collecting college emails! This step-by-step guideline will provide you with detailed instructions to successfully accomplish this task. There are two main parts to this process, so let's dive in.


Part 1: Obtaining College Domains ( Link to Video Guidelines )

  • Worksheet Assignment: Begin by locating your name in the worksheet provided. This worksheet contains a list of colleges you'll be working with.

  • Google Search for College: Once you identify your assigned college, copy its name and initiate a Google search. The goal here is to find the official website of the college.

Discovering College Domain: Look for the college's domain address, which is usually found in the address bar of your browser after you land on their official website. Once you find it, copy and paste this domain back into the designated space in the worksheet.

Part 2: Collecting Emails

  • Access the Email Collection Website: Use the link provided to access the email collection webpage. However, before you can proceed, you'll need to create an account on this website.

  • Creating Your Account: Refer to the video tutorial provided to guide you through the process of setting up an account. This account is essential for the next steps.

  • Searching for Emails: After successfully creating your account, navigate to the email search section of the webpage. Here's where you'll search for emails associated with the domain of the college you've been assigned.

  • Extracting Email Data: Input the college's domain name into the search box and click the search button. The website will generate a list of email addresses associated with that domain.

  • Downloading Email List: Export the list of email addresses to your local device using the options provided on the website.

  • Organizing the List: Open the downloaded file. The first row typically contains column headers, so disregard it. Starting from the second row, copy the email addresses and accompanying details, if any.

  • Updating the Worksheet: Return to the main worksheet provided to you. Scroll down to find the additional sheet at the bottom. Paste the collected email addresses and details into this sheet.

  • Adding College Names: In the last column of the added details, input the name of the college corresponding to each set of collected emails.

  • Status and Count: When you complete all the above mentioned tasks mark the status as “Done” and the count as “total no of colleges” that you have found for that specific college from finder. If you are not able to find the college’s website mark the status as “Website Not Found” and the count as “0”
